The Genesis Club is non-profit organization located at 1213 N. Appleton Street in Appleton, Wisconsin.
The Genesis Club is a recovery club, place for recovering alcoholics, drug addicts, their families and friends. The Genesis Club is a 501C3 corporation; it is a non-profit self supporting organization which is operated with donated time from its membership, officers, and Board of Directors. The Genesis Club relies on its counter sales for revenue, which consists of coffee, candy, soft drinks and snacks. We realize some income from membership dues, meeting contributions, bookstore sales, grants and fund raisers which are held at the Genesis Club form time to time.
A small insight into the world of recovery would be in out traditions. We ought never endorse, finance or lend out name to any outside enterprise lest problems of money, property, or prestige divert us from out primary aim. Having said that, it is the Board of Directors of the Genesis Club who has the financial responsibility to ensure the Genesis Club's future. The Board has done a great job of taking care of the necessities, such as the insurance bills, maintenance, cleaning, utility bills, and all the other bills that are normal overhead for any business. But as a Board, we are very limited in our ability to really get some of the larger items handled in a timely manner, because we don't have the income that is necessary. As earlier stated we receive very little in the way of gifts or donations, and this letter is a plea, if you will, for any financial help that your organization may provide. We know as business people that the economy has not been the strongest and it has affected companies and their capital for issues like ours. And we also know a lot of companies already have charities and community organizations they have adopted because we do get a chance to see come of the people these programs benefit and it truly does help people in need. It would be our request at this time that your company consider adding the Genesis Club to your list of community entities that you support. Any funding would go directly to the most pressing needs However, the Genesis Club Board of Directors also has long range plans that some day may include a new location. Your company may be willing to put the Genesis Club on an annual list of organizations that you support, or consider a one-time gift or donation. Either would be greatly appreciated. The Genesis Club Gives people in recovery a place to go and that is very important. Thank you for taking the time to read this request. You may contact the board by e-mail.
